“Phoebe! I have a new job for you!”, I hear my sister call out from down the hallway, hearing this always means bad things happen, for me and one unlucky person.

“What is it Regin?” I say at a normal tone for I know my sister is already in hearing range.

“What?Not happy to see me today? Thats not a very nice way to reply to your older  sibling”, I choose not to reply because I know she wont care what it is that I have to say, only that I agree to do whatever painful task she has in mind.

“I want Cade Wroth.” I froze.

“Cade.... Do you really?” I say for I have been in love with Cade since first year of High School and have not intention of EVER letting my sister get to him and destroy him like all the other boys.

“You know me Phoebe, I don’t say things I don’t mean, I want you to find out all their is to know about him and then what kind of girl he likes, can you do that?” She knows I can so she walks away shouting thanks behind her. I sigh inwardly, I’m upset about this but I knew one day it would happen. Cade Wroth is basically one of the hottest guys in our grade.

Just as I’m thinking this no other but my best friend Kyle walks up, “Hey good looking!” he shouts about two feet away from me.

“Hey Kyle, Whats up?” I saying trying to mask the face i get whenever my sister asks me to do something, Its sort of a mix of anger, sadness, unbelieveabilty and annoyance.

“What is it this time??” He asks not being fooled by my mask.

“She wants Cade,” I say starting to pout a little.

“Don’t worry, Cade would never fall for a girl like your sister,” He says a little unbelievably.

I doubt this for my sister is tall, curvacious,has long caramel brown hair and green eyes like emeralds. I’m the opposite;  small, a little bit curvacious, long blonde straight hair and grey eyes. Not exotic like my sister.

“I know what your thinking but the thing is shes very intimidating and a real maneater.”

I have to nod at this.

“Not to mention she tends to use and control whoever is close to her.”

I once again nod.

“So you see theres nothing to worry about”. I think Kyle is the only guy who sees my sister that way, to others shes a vision of exotic hottness.

“Well I have to go, Thanks for making me feel better about the situation Kyle,”

I know Kyle is in love with me and it hurts him to talk about this but i refuse to ruin our friendship by acknowledging his intrest out loud.  

 

I’m walking down the hallways at lunch time with my frenemy when an idea springs to mind.

“Hey Anna, Want to do me a favour?” I ask knowing she wont refuse but will write nasty comments about me in her diary later.

“Sure, Whatcha want me to doo?” She says with her vulgar slang.

“Go get my sisters friend Kyle for me please” As soon as i finish this sentence shes off down the hallway to find him. Shes too much of a push over, I would have dropped her by now but shes one of the prettiest girls in the school besides me so shes good for my image. Plus she really knows the student body.

I enter the lunch room and make my way to the table reserved for me by the ‘popular’ students. It overlooks the whole room which is how i like it. As i sit down and look around i see my pathetic sister come in and sit down in the corner table. I swear to god no one would even know we were twins if it wasnt for the same face shaping. My sister has been like this ever since our dad died and our mother ran away. Closed up and alone. I tried once upon a time to bring her back to her normal self but it didnt work. I eventually gave up. Our mother left when we were 10. 6 years ago, since then our dads sister has taken us in and cared for us. We have a younger brother of 8. I love him so much and so does Phoebe. Everything we do is for him, for his future. But she is the only person that knows this secret side of me and thats why she helps me when i ask to do things for her, not because shes scared of me. I look up to see Kyle coming towards me with Anna at his side.

“What do you want Regin?” Hes askes upset that i have deprived him of Phoebe time.

“Why dont you ask Phoebe out?” I ask with an innocent face.

“She likes Cade.” He says simply and i know this is not the real answer.

“You can tell me the truth you know,”

He seems amused by this. “Telling you the truth is like insulting an old lady, it has bad conciquences.”

“Whatever do you mean? Im just trying to unite my sister and her soulmate. Is that so wrong?”

“It is when YOU do it.” As he says this he starts walking away.

“I will find out!” I shout out after him.
